Office Outlook is an email client that allows you to manage users’ email from multiple accounts. Users can add as many emails as they want, but sometimes Office Outlook can’t add the email they want. This is a problem where every time the user tries to add a new email, the error message shows that we were unable to create an Outlook data file. What is Office Outlook?
Microsoft Outlook is Microsoft’s PIM (Personal Information Manager). It can be used for purposes such as shared mailboxes and calendars, Exchange public folders, SharePoint lists and meeting calendars. Microsoft has also launched applications for most mobile platforms, including iOS and Android. Outlook 2019 has improved performance and reliability with a new multi-threaded model and database improvements. But with all these new features, there will also be bugs. One of these errors is the inability to create the prospect’s database. This error occurs when a user tries to add a new account. Why could no errors be generated in the prospect’s database?
Outlook has very good features, but it also has some bugs that can be very annoying. The main causes of this error are as follows.
- Software error – One of the most common causes of this error is an Outlook error. This error prevents the user from adding accounts to the database. But switching to another way to add an account can solve this problem.
- Simplified account creation is a new feature of Outlook that has recently been implemented. If you use the simplified account creation function to add an account, you may get this error. Therefore, disabling this function may correct the error.
How do you correct an error in the prospect file?
I will show you here the steps to follow to easily correct the error and add the desired accounts in your Microsoft Outlook.
Note: It would not be possible to add an account in Outlook without the permission of your email service provider. Outlook and other client-side mail must be resolved before accounts can be added. Therefore make sure you have the rights for Outlook on the mailclient side. You can visit the login and security option of Gmail and then select the Passwords application. This gives you a 16-digit code to enter as your password when you add your account.
1. Adding an account by managing the profile settings
Since the error prevents you from adding an account in Outlook, it may be useful to switch to another method to add an account. Follow the instructions
- Open review
- Click on File in the upper right corner
- Click on Account settings.
- You’ll see a drop-down menu. Click on the Manage profiles option in the lower pane.
- When the new window appears, search and click on the Email Accounts option.
- Then click on the New button in the upper right corner.
- Now enter the details of the email you want to add and follow the on-screen instructions.
This method allows you to add the desired account without making mistakes.
2. Use the Mail setting in Control Panel.
Adding an account via the Mail option in the control panel can help.
- Press Windows + R to open the start window.
- Enter the control panel and press the Enter key.
- Then click on the Mail option
- Click Outlook Profile and then click OK.

- Click on the Create button and add the desired email message.
This is an alternative method to add an account in Outlook when the first method does not work.
3. Disable simplified account creation using the registry editor
In newer versions of Outlook, this feature causes an error when the user can add a new account. Turning it off can certainly correct the error, and the user can add the desired account. To do this, we need to play with certain registry codes through the registry editor. Follow the instructions
- Type Windows + R to open the Run window.
- Type regedit and press the Enter key.
- The record editor opens
- Now copy this path HKEY_CURRENT_USERSOFTWAREMicrosoftOffice16.0Outlook into the address line.
- Now right click on the page and select the option New.
- Select a DWORD (32-bit) value and click on it.
- Now rename the newly created file to DisableOffice365SimplifiedAccountCreation and press Enter.
- Then double-click on it and make sure the value is 1.
- Then click on OK
This will now disable the simplified account creation in Outlook and allow you to add the accounts of your choice.
