In an era of continuous technological advancement, individuals are never at a loss for things to be amazed at. With seemingly every week bringing new innovations in technology, it is not surprising that the latest is AI.
According to IBM, this new program will focus mostly on artificial intelligence, or the use of computer technology to control machinery and automate processes. The courses will be taught at IBM’s Learning Network, which was launched in 2014 with the goal of fostering more career-oriented education in the tech industry. As with other IBM education programs, the goal is to help students learn new skills that will help them in their future careers.
IBM today announced plans to open a new training facility focused on artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. The new facility, which will be IBM’s third U.S.-based AI facility, will be located in New York City. It will be the first artificial intelligence training facility of any kind that IBM has ever opened.IBM says it will train 800 IT experts in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity next year. Training is part of the new programme.
IBM’s training programme is part of SkillsFuture Singapore, a government initiative to train 30,000 people next year. This was announced in May 2020.
Singapore’s Education Minister said in a speech to IBM that 18,000 of the 30,000 places will be created by IBM and other similar employers and training providers.
Talk about feedback: There is a lot of interest from individuals and so far around 15,000 people have expressed an interest in the course.
IBM’s AI and cybersecurity initiative, also known as i.am-vitalize, offers courses in these areas that are completed in six months.
Participants in the programme will take several introductory modules in the first 2½ months before moving on to the main modules of the course.
The cost of the IBM AI and Cybersecurity course is $500 and participants receive a monthly stipend of $1,500.
