If you read this blog regularly, you may remember an article that we published back in September from a source that is said to have provided accurate information about previous Google phones. (We also published a follow-up article last month.) The source claims that the Pixel 5A and Pixel 6 will launch in early October. The two phones will use 3D face recognition for security, which we have heard about before. This particular source also says that the Pixel 6 will be a sequel to the Pixel 5A, and that they will be the only two devices that Google will release in October.
As it turns out, Android Q will be the first version of Android to come with a dark mode. But what of the Pixel phones? Well, we have both good news and bad news. The good news is that Google is also working on a dark mode called “Night mode” for the Pixel smartphones. The bad news is that it won’t be enabled in Android Q. Instead, you’ll have to wait for Android Q January 2020.
The last year for Google Pixel smartphones was an interesting one. After the first two generations of Pixel phones, Google introduced a new brand – Pixel 3a, which was a “budget” version of Pixel smartphone with a small screen, less powerful chipset and a camera. Many Pixel fans were frustrated, so they expected Google to release the real Pixel 3a, but instead Google released a completely different device called Pixel 5A. And now Google is working on Pixel 6. While the specifications are unknown, some people claim that the Pixel 6 will have a new design, and it will be a “budget” version of the Pixel 6.. Read more about pixel 5 release date and let us know what you think.Leading up to this year’s Google I/O, there was a lot of anticipation that we would hear something about the next generation of Pixel phones and hopefully some details about the Pixel 5A that the company announced in April. There was also talk of a partnership between Google and Samsung and updates to WearOS to give Google’s wearable operating system a much-needed boost. While we’ve learned what’s on the horizon in terms of wearable devices and Android 12, Google hasn’t provided much information about the expected Pixel. However, there have been a few leaks recently that have given a glimpse of what the upcoming Pixel 6 and 5A might look like. We have collected all the interesting rumors and leaks about the two upcoming Pixel devices here. First, let’s address the issue of timing. The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are expected to be released in October 2021 – the usual release dates for the Pixel, based on previous releases – but the launch could be delayed by a few weeks if the chip shortage persists. The same goes for the launch of the Pixel 5A, which could very well launch at the same time as the Pixel 6 devices, or even before August 2021. Google has rarely made design changes to its Pixel lineup since the first Pixel was released in 2016. However, if leaks about the Pixel 6 are to be believed, that is about to change. The new Pixels will likely have more cameras, probably three cameras, larger screens, a central front camera, smaller bezels and apparently a fingerprint sensor in the screen. Both new phones will be powered by Google’s Whitechapel SoC, a chipset rumored to be close in performance to the Snapdragon 870.
A striking departure from the design tradition.
The Pixel 6 has the same look as the larger Pixel 6 Pro, but it seems to be missing a sensor, although it does seem to have the same excellent camera bump. It is also reported that the screen will be flat and smaller than that of the 6 Pro. It’s also possible that the phone will be reduced to a single speaker, instead of the usual two we’ve seen on Pixel phones so far. The phone is expected to feature a 120Hz FHD+ OLED screen and a battery of around 4,500mAh.
Advanced camera equipment
Leaked information about the Pixel 6 Pro shows that Google has finally upgraded its camera hardware to keep up with Apple and Samsung. Google’s image processing and processing power have made the Pixel cameras the best smartphone cameras, even with outdated sensors. By improving the camera hardware, the already excellent software can flourish even more. RenderPixel 6 | Source: Jonas Daehnert via @PhoneDesigner Judging from the looks and CAD renderings, it looks like the 6 Pro will have three cameras – a primary sensor, an ultra-wide-angle sensor, and what looks like a periscope telephoto lens. It will also likely be the first Pixel to feature an edge-to-edge curved screen, with a 120Hz QHD+ OLED display and a 5000mAh battery. The 6 Pro also continues Google’s tradition of putting stereo speakers in its phones. In the news: Air India cyber attack hits data of 4.5 million users over 10 years There’s not much news surrounding the Pixel 5A, other than the phone will simply be a redesigned Pixel 4A 5G and will cost around $349. Pixel 5A Render | Source: Steve H. McFly via @OnLeaks The phone features 6GB of RAM, an octa-core Snapdragon 765G SoC processor clocked at 2.4GHz and a 6.2-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 416 PPI. The battery is a bit small at 3,480mAh, but fast charging should more than make up for the lack of battery capacity. As you can see, the Pixel 5A will be identical to the 4A 5G in many ways. According to rumors, the 5A could be equipped with a Snapdragon 780G processor, which offers more than 40% more power than the 765G currently expected in the phone.
