1. Add your OWA to Trusted Sites
- Start Internet Explorer. You can navigate through the Start menu to find and launch the application.

- Paste the link to your OWA page and click Add.

2. Using Internet Explorer as an Administrator

- Try to retrieve your email and make sure the S/MIME check is not available, the error has been fixed. When the error is resolved, change the Internet Explorer property so that the application still works as an administrator.
- Open the file explorer and navigate to the following location:
- Right-click on the Internet Explorer shortcut and select Properties.
- Click on the Advanced button.
- Select the Run as administrator check box.
- Click OK to save your changes.
The next time you start Internet Explorer, run it with administrator privileges. Sometimes the application may require the user to have administrator rights in the browser.
3. S/MIME assembly
- Open your OWA client and log in with your credentials.
- Tap the Settings button in the upper right corner of the screen.
- In the context menu, select Show all settings.
- Click the Settings button in the Settings window.
- Click on the S/MIME tab in the menu.
- Click on the Download S/MIME Control hyperlink to download the package.
- When the download is complete, start the download file.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install S/MIME.
- After installation, you should refresh your browser and you should see a popup message indicating that this website wants to run the following add-on.
- Right-click on the message and select Run this add-on on all websites.
- Click Run when the Internet Explorer security warning appears.

- Close Internet Options and restart Internet Explorer.
