How do I correct a TurboTax 1603 error?
1. TurboTax reinstallation

Run a system check for errors

Message: If you have a third-party antivirus program installed on your computer, make sure you at least disable its protection. To do this, right-click on the system tray icon of the antivirus program and select the Disable option.
4. Clean up Windows Startup
- Press the key combination Windows + R.
- Type this command in the Run dialog box and press Enter: msconfig
- On the General tab, click the Start Selective radio button if it is not already selected.
- Clear the Load startup items check box.
- Select Load System Services and Use Initial Boot Configuration Settings if these boxes are not already checked.
- On the Services tab, select the Hide all Microsoft services option.
- Then click the Disconnect All button.
- Click on Apply to save the new MSConfig settings.
- Click OK to close the System Configuration window.
- Then click Restart in the window that opens.
- Then run TurboTax to see if the problem persists.
Message: You can restore the original startup configuration by selecting the Load Startup Items option and clicking the Enable All button in the MSConfig utility.
